This is from Liam's facebook page and wanted me to share it with everyone. Our team surprised Liam at his house on our way to the Comswogue game. The photo is of our 4 captain's and entire team presenting Liam with a Hofstra jersey and Stony Brook poster signed by their respected teams. In return, Liam gave the captain's his helmet and asked that they bring it with them to every game.
Liam is a very courageous young boy and is inspiring to all that meet him. The sad news was when his dad texted me during our game telling that they were rushing Liam back to the hospital with a high grade fever. He has a zero white blood count. Tomorrow morning he is scheduled for a spinal tap cemo treatment (all day).
This is from Liam's dad:
The McGuire family would like to say an extra special thank you to Tom Rotanz , the coaches and the entire varsity boys lacrosse team for making my son an honorary captain of the team. They have been behind us since day 0 and have kept us moving forward. As we cannot attend every game, captain Liam is there in spirit and says he wants the team to 'Just Win.' Again, a million thanks go out to coach and the boys for being there for us and lifting our spirits at a time where we need it the most. Liam, Matt, Sara and Kerrin
Go Liam!
Coach Rotanz
