From the start of her life adventure, Kaitlyn has taken on a positive attitude. She was instrumental in raising funds to make a Teen Room at Stony Brook Hospital where she was treated and in a fund raising event for a 15 year old boy with Leukemia, that she met during treatment. Kaitlyn has high hopes of medical advancements for the fight against cancer. Kaitlyn is well aware that the success of her treatment is from those that have fought before her and it is her life long ambition to be part of the future successes.
Just this month Kaitlyn's brother, James gave Bone Marrow at Memorial Sloan Kettering for planned transplant to Kaitlyn sometime in April 2015
Zachary was diagnosed on June 4, 2014 with stage 4 brain cancer. He has undergone 42 rounds of head and spine radiation. He is currently in the 4th round, out of 9 cycles of treatments to undergo. Zachary is an only child. He loves firemen, policemen, pilots and teenage mutant ninja turtles! He spends a lot of his time building with legos and is very good at it. He enjoys playing hockey and will be starting T-Ball this year. Zachary’s mom said that he is an “old soul” who simply enjoys spending time with his cousins and building legos with his dad. Mrs. Cote said Zachary is a real trooper…and a little fighter.
Zachary is very excited to be one of our Honored Guests for Lax out Cancer this year! He wants to walk out onto the field, side by side, with our Miller Place and SWR lacrosse teams. Zachary’s doctors have rearranged his treatment schedule to help make this possible!
Sean loves to playing basketball and riding his bike. He enjoys building with legos and loves the teenage mutant ninja turtles! More than anything, Sean wants to be a gold miner in Alaska when he grows up.
His favorite show is Gold Rush! Just like Zachary, Sean too is very excited to be one of our Honored Guests for Lax Out Cancer this year! And we are thrilled to have them. They will walk alongside their new big buddies, the SWR and Miller Place Varsity Lacrosse Teams to a song that we have come to learn just happens to be very special to Sean and his family, ‘Wont Let Go’, by Rascal Flatts…. “I will stand by you, I will help you through, when you’ve done all you can do, and you can’t cope…I will dry your eyes, I will fight your fight, I will hold you tight and I won’t let go…
